The Witch’s Princess

The queen is dead. The kingdom is cursed. And the only way to lift the curse is to slay the witch. When Princess Alessandra’s father the king offers her hand in marriage to the knight who can slay the evil bog witch and lift the curse, there’s only one thing for the princess to do: Sneak out of the castle and kill the witch herself to avoid marriage. But she’s not dumb and she’s not going alone, because she’s first assembling a crack crew of the deadliest monsters in myth and legend to help. But she discovers the monsters aren’t what they seem, and neither is the witch, or the curse, or the kingdom. A rollicking and wild quest of magic and adventure.

Special Visiting Artist

The Grand Marais Playhouse is pleased to announce that professional actor/ fight choreographer Benjamin Bourcout will return to Grand Marais to join the artistic team for the production of The Witch’s Princess.
Benjamin will choreograph and instruct the cast in all the sword fight scenes and physical altercations of the upcoming tale.
(Benjamin will also be bringing his one man show to the stage while he is here. More info on that coming soon!)
Most of Benjamin’s career has been spent on stage doing classical work. Currently, he is touring his show "No Matter What You Tell Me” where he recently performed in Las Vegas and Oregon. Next stops for Benjamin include California, New York, Ohio, and Minnesota. Benjamin is also a company member at Great River Shakespeare Festival. Notable performances include As You Like It/Orlando, Julius Caesar/Cassius, Midsummer/Oberon, Winter’s Tale/Leontes, and Romeo and Juliet/Romeo. Other theaters include the Asolo Repertory Theatre, Curtain Theatre, St. Petersburg Shakespeare Company, and the Orlando Shakespeare Theater. Benjamin published his second book, “The Name Hennessy,” last summer (2024). He voices one of the main characters in the audiobook that was also released last year. It is a STELLAR, fully dramatized audiobook, with individual actors reading each character, all recorded together on stage. Benjamin is an active martial artist and does fight choreography for stage and film across the country. MFA, SAG-AFTRA/AEA @boucvalt
